Great Tacos!1- only open a few hours for lunch2- cash only3- typical price to portion ratios for Kauai4- awesome fish tacos and the carne asada wasn't bad eitherI'm accustomed to baja style fish tacos (Southern California) and the fish tacos here are a little different, but in a good way. Really enjoyed the mix of flavors and the grilled fish vs battered/fried as is common with baja style.

The food was really good and we loved walking down to the beach to eat. It was a bit pricey for the size of taco but they do have prime real estate.

Carne asada taco was my favorite, fish also delicious! They are in fact open Sundays, so not sure why Google says they're closed.

Fantastic tacos. Takes a bit but they are cooking to order, not with a pot of meat from early in the day. So good.

I tried carne aside, pork, and fish taco and also ordered rice and beans. First complaint is the rice and beans were not Mexican style which I expected at a taco joint , it was more like red beans and rice. Fish taco and pork were decent, carne asada was my favorite of the 3. I don’t think this place lives up to the current 4.7 star average by any means. I wouldn’t eat here again, there is much better food all over the area.

Awesome tacos, had the fish, pork and asada. Quick, laid back, cheap and right on the beach, will go back again.

These tacos are superstars. We practically ate the carne asada tacos every single day for lunch. Forget about Tropical Taco, these tacos are so much better. Hours are limited, so you have to get there between 12 and 2:50.

Excellent food for thought and sport.We tried several attempts eating here ,finally on our last day of sampling the top 14 fish taco establishments on Kauai, this place did not disappoint. Fresh mango salsa, and a variety of items on the menu this place has mojo. It has a bit of adoration locally, business days are variable.Portions were small and we ordered many a sort of tasing menu.Pat was probably wondering why we took so many pictures and asked so many questions. But was a genuine dude. 2 thumbs up!

The ‘jalapeno cream cheese quesadilla’ is fantastic! Very spicy, very nice!

We loved the veggie burrito here!

Carne asada tacos a must try

The owner said this place was a legend in the area, but I tried their famous tacos and they weren’t above average. Just kind of soggy and wet. You can get better tacos at Federico’s.

Tacos were excellent! The khalua pork taco was amazing!!!!

This is only open around lunchtime, but is well worth a visit if you are at Hanalei Bay. It is located in the parking lot at Black Pot, which is as far east as you can go on Weke Road. If you are at the Hanalei Pavilion, just go east (left out of the Pavilion parking lot) to the end of the road. My favorites are the kalua pork tacos and the fish tacos. There is a little table to eat at but I will take a walk out to the Hanalei Pier, which has great views and a place at the end of the pier under a roof, with a place to sit in the shade and gobble the tacos.

The asada taco was delicious! Very flavorful! I liked it better than the fish taco.

Hey "Taco Man" your on Google Maps! This is a must go place for anyone visiting Black Pot for the first time. Clearly some of the best tacos on the North Shore of Kauai. You will surely return again and again once you've had one of these great tacos. This little truck has been serving tacos here for a number of years and has become an icon of its own. Sitting on the shore looking out on the water eating tacos it's a match made in heaven. You can always hear the meat sizzling on the grill the tacos are always fresh. Don't be concerned that it's just a little taco truck this food is always fresh well-cooked and seasoned with care. Make sure you sauce your tacos and burritos to your liking, and find a great place near the water to savor these wonderful tacos.

Really liked the tacos. Got the carne, fish taco and a kids quesadilla. They were a hit all round, especially the carne taco. As someone else mentioned- they’re not super fast. But does it matter when you’re on ‘island time’?

Hoooooly shipwreck! Eat these tacos or go home with regret. Best tacos on this frickin island, I should know I'm Mexican! You will not be disappointed.

Amazing tacos. Tried one fish and one asada, both extremely tasty. A friend got the pork and was blown away by it. I would highly recommend you try this place. Make sure you bring cash!

A little expensive for a food truck and cash only (there's an ATM inside the adjacent grocery market), but on par with the rest of the island, price-wise. I had a carne asada taco and a pork taco. They were decent, but nothing to write home about. I like that they have a couple of tables with umbrellas nearby so you can eat in the shade.
